FolkeFest: Folkestone Contemporary Folk Festival
A new contemporary folk festival, supported by the Creative Folkestone Festivals Fund and produced by Moving Being C.I.C.
The festival includes live music, visual art, dance, storytelling, workshops and talks. Golden threads include the acknowledgement of folk traditions and folklore; progressing, updating and queering folk; voice, song and storytelling.

GET INVOLVED NEXT TIME! Are you a folk musician or do you work in the folk arts? Perhaps your work is inspired by folk music or lore, or perhaps you’re pushing the boundaries of what folk arts can be? Maybe you’re a singer-songwriter, storyteller, writer, film-maker or poet - someone who draws on folk traditions or documents the every-day? Or do you perform folk dance or theatre? Is your work inspired by history, nature or tradition? Or are you a folk expert who could give a talk or run a workshop?
Volunteers.
Are you a folk enthusiast? Or do you just like helping out? Want to meet new people or learn new things? Perhaps you want to develop your CV or you’re looking to go into the world of events, live arts or festivals? Maybe you’re a sound engineer, film-maker, photographer or social media pro looking to give back to the community and do something fun.
